Kettlebells and Triathlon Training
Kettlebells provide an excellent addition to the triathlete's strength training plan. They increase strength, power and endurance without a gain in muscle mass. Brought to the United States by a former Soviet Special Forces instructor named Pavel Tsatsouline, they were used by the Russian Army for over 300 years. One of the great advantages of
strength training with kettlebells for triathlon
is that with all of the different aspects of your training that you have to cover (swimming, biking & running), you can get a full strength training workout in 20 minutes when you are short on time. Let me point out that they are NOT a silver bullet of weight training. They are however an excellent weapon in your arsenal. I will be adding video shortly to demonstrate some of the basic exercises.
